Fashion House PRADA created again for this season the most trendsetting and innovative shoes.
A classic shoe where the base is covered in rubber.It reminded me immediately of the “GUETRES’ whom gentleman were wearing to protect their shoes from dirt and dust.In the other way round. Was this an inspiration?
I think that it is fabulous that each season Miuccia Prada is setting the tone of things to come and to be copied. If they are elegant is irrelevant. It all depends on who will wear them. Women with style will wear them with a LBD or a black smoking and be chic and then other women will want to absolutely have these in their garderobe and will mix them whit the wrong clothes, only because these shoes will be so recognisable and because they are PRADA and FASHION.

My friends Mathieu and Philippe took me for a walk through the village looking for a vintage shop run by an Italian couple. They are specialised in Chanel handbags and couture jewellery from the 1930s till now and they sell, besides an amazing collection of statement pieces, also some pretty art deco furniture and Italian glass objects.
I show you some pictures that I made in the shop from pieces, that I liked. I could go forever and ever taking each piece in my hands. they are of such a creativity.

Another new shop in St, Tropez is VIGNES.
The Atelier Vignes is specialised in exotic leathers and made to measure items. Everything can be chosen in different kind of leather going from alligator to python and galuchat (sharkskin). And their speciality is crocodile (amazing colours)
You can have your belt or your iPad case or any other item made in one of those exclusive leathers and choose the animal skin that you like the most. Real Luxury without Logos. Real Class.
The handles of the basic bags of their collection can be changed in various lengths and colours to be assorted on shoes or clothes. nice idea, because of course the materials are amazing.

I’ve spent last week in St. Tropez with my best friend Re. in her marvellous house with views on the bay and the village.

Dolce farniente on the swimming pool and long walks in discovering the new boutiques and what they have to propose.
Christian Dior opened a wonderful shop in a Hotel Particulier and the interior decoration was done by Peter Marino in a Marino style. All in different shades of grey.

Fendi opened a new boutique and as I was always a big fan of their Peekaboo, Re was getting my attention that the leather quality is not really nice and indeed I really don’t love the grain of the leather they use, so exit of my best seller list.

It is still not summer and some shops sell already the A/W 2012 collections. At Erthee the almost complete collection of Celine was in the shop and every piece was more beautiful then the other, a simple minimal look with much beautiful, well cut leather garments and thick woollen sweaters and then of course their inimitable, I mean their very imitated range of bags…

Yesterday I went to Antwerp where I had a meeting with Babs, the interior architect of MrK , as she calls me the interior architect of MrsK. Absolutely adorable, she had a present for me and one that I really coveted. it was a book about the first 20 years of architecture of my all time favourite residential architect Hugh Newell Jacobsen. Fabulous.
Babs did a folie and a beautiful one. She bought a bag that serves the purpose of a big shopping bag and trolley as it has wheels and a telescopic arm to pull it. It is created by the Dutch designer nielssmeltink. for the Dutch accessory brand www.jannissima.com.
The leather is very thick and so soft and is having a kind of suede finish, very mat and a beautiful cream colour. Me, crazy of bags fell in love immediatly. I will go to Eindhoven this week end where there is an exhibition in the old Philips factories with young designers It is called the THE TEMPORARY CONCEPT STORE and you will find info on their blog temporaryconceptstore.blogspot.com .
The ideal travel bag. even Ryanair will like it. for a quick escape to Barcelona or Pisa.
